These $1 jars are easy to decorate and perfect to gather those small items such as hair accessories.
There are so many small items in my daughter’s bathroom drawers that will need a home in her dorm room. That’s where Dollar Tree organization comes in. At only $1 per container, these make great storage for all those small items.
Below you’ll see the containers before I decorated them. I decided to keep this project simple and just paint the lids and decorate with stickers, labeling what is inside.
First, I decided to paint the jar lids.
I used some Rust-Oleum spray paint that I already had. You can either leave the lids the silver color they are or spray them with paint. You can get this paint below for pretty cheap. This is the color granite, which is perfect because my daughter’s room colors are gray, white, and pink.
I just used one coat of paint on these lids.
Printing the words/letters
The font I used for this project is Kathen, found on dafont.com. I love this font and use it on a lot of projects! The letters fit together so well! This post isn’t a Cricut tutorial so I’m not sharing details of the Cricut process. I un-grouped the letters and scrunched them together. I then re-grouped them and attached and welded them before I cut them. I set all my words to 2.7 inches to fit this jar lid, which is about 3 inches at it’s widest point.
If you don’t have a Cricut cutting machine, you can use stickers from a craft store. They have many small size stickers of the alphabet.
They turned out so cute!
