A flag fruit pizza sugar cookie is the perfect food for a 4th of July party or any patriotic event such as a World Cup party or Olympics celebration.
This weekend I took one to a family reunion, which happened to be during the week of the 4th of July. Instead of my traditional round fruit pizza, I decided to make my American Flag fruit pizza. It’s perfect to bring to parties because it is so easy to make and it’s always a hit.

What you’ll need to make it:
- 6-oz container of strawberries (you may want a second container if you want flag stripes full of strawberries)
- 1 pint of blueberries
- 1 roll of sugar cookie dough
- 8 oz. cream cheese
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/4 cup sugar
- parchment paper
Prepare the cookie crust.
Place a sheet of parchment paper onto a cookie sheet.
Press the cookie dough onto the pan.
Slice or break the cookie roll into a few pieces and spread the pieces across the pan. Place a piece of parchment paper on top of the cookie dough and begin to press and flatten onto the cookie sheet. Placing the parchment paper on top of the dough keeps the dough from sticking to your hands or a roller. Keep pressing to spread the cookie dough across the bottom of the pan.
Use a dough roller on top of the parchment paper to evenly spread the dough across the pan. It is important that the dough is a pretty even depth throughout so take a few minutes to get rolled to be even.
Bake cookie dough.
Bake cookie dough (pizza crust) at 350 degrees for 10-13 minutes. Let cookie crust cool before putting on the icing.
Prepare the fruit.
Rinse the strawberries and blueberries.
Cut stems from strawberries.
Slice strawberries.
Use an egg slicer to evenly and quickly slice the strawberries. If you don’t have one of these, you may want to consider grabbing one. They’re cheap and can be used to cut many things quickly. I’ve linked one in this paragraph and below.
Prepare icing for the flag fruit pizza sugar cookie.
Mix the cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla in a small bowl until creamy.
Decorate the flag fruit pizza sugar cookie.
Spread the icing evenly across the cookie dough.
Place blueberries in upper left-hand corner of the flag.
Place the sliced strawberries on the cake to make stripes.
