White Chocolate Popcorn: A great St. Patrick’s Day party food
You may have already heard me talk about our white chocolate popcorn being a family favorite. Well, with a minor tweak, it’s now a perfect St. Patrick’s Day treat idea. This recipe is a little different than many of the popcorn mixes I’ve seen because peanut butter is melted into the white chocolate. And this recipe is gluten free!
Ingredients:
- 2 regular-size bags of microwave popcorn, (remove unpopped kernels)
- 2 cups Corn Chex cereal
- 2 cups Cheerios
- 1 cup m&m’s
- 2 12-oz. packages green chocolate candy melts
- 3 tablespoons peanut butter
If you’d prefer to watch me make this recipe, watch the video below.
HOW TO MAKE IT:
First, mix the first four ingredients.
- Stir the popcorn, Corn Chex, Cheerios, and m&m’s.
- This first step takes a VERY big bowl.
Then, melt the green chocolate melts and stir in peanut butter.
- Follow instructions on the packaging to melt the chocolates.
- Once it starts to melt, add peanut butter and stir until smooth.
Next, pour chocolate over the popcorn mixture.
Then, stir the chocolate into the popcorn mix.
Stir the mixture and then pour it onto wax or parchment paper.
- Let the mixture set for about 20 minutes.
Finally, using a spatula, place popcorn in a bowl.
- Break the popcorn into chunks.
This St. Patrick’s Day treat idea was a big hit in our house! I am already planning to make white chocolate popcorn for Easter using pink or yellow candy melts.
