An explosion gift box is a personalized photo gift box for any occasion.
My daughter made this photo gift box as a diy gift for her boyfriend. She wanted to give him something personal, but couldn’t spend a ton of time. She decided to buy an explosion box on Amazon, making it an easy project. She just had to pick out her photos, trim them, tape them on, and write notes commemorating their relationship.

Supplies for this Photo Gift Box
- Explosion Gift Box – This is the one we used.
- Photo Trimmer or scissors
- Adhesive Applicator/Tape Runner – We used a full one and a refill. Lots of adhesive!
- Metallic pens – we used these.
- Photos – We printed about 40 photos and some left over, but we didn’t use all the extra pieces.
Unboxing of our Explosive Box
We were very excited when our exploding box arrived! There were lots of different components, so we spent a few minutes taking a look at each.
There were a LOT of stickers enclosed, including multi-color stars, hearts, dots, and zig zag stickers.
There were also stickers that were sized to fit various shapes on the explosion box. One section of stickers are more formal and great for family pictures, weddings, and anniversary celebrations. Another section has more whimsical colors and designs with hearts and dots.
My daughter used the heart piece for a letter to her boyfriend.
This is what the photo gift box looked like when open, but without any photos yet applied.
There were a lot of pieces with folds. These can be used for notes and to apply pictures.
My daughter didn’t end up using all the extra photo compartments that were included in her kit. She wanted to keep it simple, and not to over-done. That said, I can’t wait to order one. I want to use every one of them them!
