What You’ll Need

Brownie Ingredients

I always use a boxed brownie mix, but you can make them from scratch if you have a favorite recipe.

Melted Witch Brownie Decorating Ingredients

This recipe requires the items below to decorate.

Make the brownies according to the box directions.

I like to line the pan with foil because it makes it easy to take out of the pan. If you use foil, you’ll want to spray the foil with cooking spray.

To make these Halloween treats, it’s best to use a 9×9 pan.

pan prep for brownie

Pull the brownie out of the pan using the foil.

Put the brownie onto some parchment paper.

brownie, before being cut

Using a pizza cutter, trim off the edges of the brownie.

I don’t throw the brownie edges away. These make great ice cream toppings or a snack to eat before it’s time to serve the Halloween tombstone brownies.

If you want the brownies to be more rectangular, cut the brownie into 6 pieces. I think that squares work great for this recipe (and I needed more brownies) so I cut this brownie into 9 pieces.

Create witch hats.

Place cookies on a piece of parchment paper.

Make orange icing and place onto the cookies.

Make frosting by adding yellow and red drops to the white icing (following the ratio outlined on the box for orange frosting).

For the best look, you can put the frosting into a ziplock a snip the corner to make a round iced area on your cookie. I was in a hurry and just used a spoon to make a spoon drop on each cookie, in the center.

Place Hershey Kiss on the icing.

Melt the green icing and spoon onto brownie.

Put a little bit of the green icing into a bowl and melt for 30 seconds. A little bit goes a long way. Pour the melted frosting onto the brownie to resemble the melted witch’s body.
