Transform these $1 Dollar Tree jars into darling spooky candy jars for Halloween.
This Halloween Dollar Tree DIY shares a fun and inexpensive way to add candy jars as Halloween decor.
Supplies Needed for this Project:
- $1 jars
- White Paint (if desired) to paint lids.
- Black sticker letters
- Candy for the jars
Steps to complete the project
Purchase the jars.
I found the jars below at Dollar Tree. I have used these jars for so many projects. Check out these dorm room organization jars we created for my daughter’s dorm.
Paint the jar lids.
This is an optional step. The silver color looks great with most decor. But I do like to paint the lids to match my project. I used the Krylon Color Master white matte spray paint on these lids.
Pick candy & think of clever candy names.
Decide which candy you want to put in your jars and think of clever names. I found these chocolate krispie candies with eye ball wrappers that were perfect for my jars. These are from Dollar Tree and were actually very good. I also wanted to put the Reeces peanut butter cups in a jar too. These are shaped like bat wings. Both of these candies were perfect because there are easy, fun labels to put on my jars to match.
Buy or make stickers and put them onto the jars.
The jar lids aren’t very wide so you’ll need small letter stickers on the lids.
I used a Cricut cutting machine to cut vinyl letters for my jars.
Tip: be sure that the lid is screwed onto the jar when before you put the letters on the lid. This ensures the writing is in the write position when the lid is screwed onto the jar.
I love this Halloween Dollar Tree DIY. I’m considering making more as gifts for a few friends!
