Made with Dollar Tree vase, Peeps, florals, & dessert glass
Spring is here and it’s finally time to bring out the Spring colors! Today I started transitioning my home to Spring decor (even though it is still 45 degrees outside). It’s been a few years since I’ve put together Easter Peeps decorations, so I decided throw some together. In this post, I’ll share how to make a darling Easter Peeps Decoration, great for smaller spaces.
As a reminder, some of the links in my posts link to Amazon.com.

Dollar Tree Supplies I used:
- 1 package of Peeps ($1)
- 1 small square vase ($1)
- 1 package of dessert cups (set of 3 for $1, making each 33 cents)
- 2 bunches of flowers for each vase ($1 each, making it $2 per vase)
- 1 small piece of Styrofoam for each dessert cup ($1 for big piece, can cut and use for many projects)
Here is a picture of the dessert glasses I used. I found these in the Dollar Tree section with the dinner plates and glasses.
I decided to make three small vases, in purple, pink, and yellow. Since I’ll be placing them next to each other, I want the florals in my center display to be a little bit taller, so I actually used two additional floral stems on purple Easter Peeps decoration.
Steps to Make Each Easter Peeps Decoration:
Insert Stryofoam into the dessert glass.
Cut as necessary so that the Styrofoam doesn’t poke out above the top. Exception: If you’re planning for your floral stems to be taller, you’ll want some excess Styrofoam poking out of the top to help fold all of the floral stems.
Arrange the florals in the Easter Peeps Decoration.
First, using wire cutters (if you don’t have them, you may want to consider), cut each stem from the floral bunch.
Then place the floral stems into the Styrofoam, ensuring the center has tallest stems with the shorter ones on the outside.
Place Peeps in the vase.
You will need two strips of Peeps, with each strip having three Peeps.
Place the Peeps into the vase, facing out. I bent my set of three so that there were two on one side and one on the other. Then I repeated the same with the other set-of-3 Peeps. This is a tight fit and you’ll have to work with it a bit. I wish the vase was 4″ x 4″, but this 3″ x 3″ vase is the size that the Dollar Tree has.
Add crinkle tissue, if desired.
I only added crinkle tissue on the purple Easter Peeps decoration. I chose to do it on that one because the stems were so much longer and I felt that I needed the coverage around the Styrofoam. I didn’t use crinkle tissue on the other two Peeps decorations.
Once I got the tissue in, I added some additional shorter stems around the edges of it.
Repeat steps if you’re creating additional vases.
I’ve included some additional photos from the other vases below. You may notice that when I created the last two Easter Peeps decorations, that I put the dessert glass into the vase before inserting the Peeps and floral stems. I thought it was a little easier to work in the tight space with the glass already inserted.
Finding Materials
I was able to find all of my materials for this project at Dollar Tree. In case you don’t have a Dollar Tree nearby or you just need an easier option (or you just want better quality items), I’ve provided links below to the key items you’ll need for the project.
- Peeps (assortment pack of 5 colors)
- Small vase (mine was 3″ x 3″this is 4″ x 4″, which is actually better)
- Floral Stems
- Styrofoam (this is more than you need, but I use Styrofoam for so many projects!)
- Small glass container to place inside the vase (the dimensions and shape of this would be great. You could also just use a shot glass.
Good luck with your Easter Peeps Decorations!
